At 1:00 p.m. on November 24th, after everyone enjoyed the piano played by Kitty from Grade 9 Class 1, the parents meeting of G9 was held on time. This meeting is the first parents meeting for all G9 students. It promotes the communication between parents and school and helps them have a better understanding about behavior of kids. Meanwhile, the parents meeting also let them have a clearer understanding of international education, which may be essential for their children to choose programs and make preparation for go aboard in the future.
Special guests who were invited to attend this meeting are: Maggie Wu, the Principal of international department; Lynn, the Director of Canadian program; Eric, the Director of American program; David Zhai, the Director of Australian program; Travis, Coordinator of foreign teachers in Canadian program and all the teachers in Canadian program.
Firstly, Lynn introduced the teachers' team, discipline setting, curriculum evaluation system and the ability requirements of the students. At the same time, she also put forward some pertinent and effective suggestions for family education.
Foreign teachers Travis introduced the form of the classroom to parents. He hoped that parents could understand the diverse forms of classroom in international education. The speech is lively and filled with rich content. He also called on all parents to cooperate with teachers to work together to pay attention to children's growth and their study with practical action.
Chinese teacher representative Charlie spoke for 15 minutes on the topic of "never forget the beginning, always get the best". In the speech, he hoped that parents can understand the essence of education deeply. The purpose of which is to cultivate a noble man, and a person who is out of the vulgar taste. He also put forward some suggestions for the parents from the aspects of students' needs and characteristics: Parents should give children the ability and energy before they go abroad. They also need to give children direction and methods to their kids to help them to soar freely in the future.
Students representative Olivia shared her insights and experiences of English learning. And thank the school for the proper management and good quality of education.
After the speech, it came the highlight of this conference: Lynn, the director of Canadian program, read out the list of excellent students who had excellent performance in this half semester, and invited teachers to award them one by one. It is worth mentioning that, the certificate of top three students in the midterm examination was awarded by their parents. Seeing the parents filled with a proud smile and the slightly shy face of our children, we believe that there is a harmony, self-confident seed, is growing now.
At the end of the conference, all the teachers and parents communicated individually, focusing on communicating the subject matter of the children. This is to enhance interaction and communication between parents and school. It is also for the purpose of solving students' academic problems. The homeroom teachers, class group members in two classes, all subject teachers and parents carried out for 1.5 hours of individual discussion. This meeting presented us a good atmosphere of cooperation between parents and school.
